Black Licorice and other things

Black Licorice

Black Licorice is one of my new patterns. I’m doing so many of them together that I sometimes lose track of them. I do concentrate on new BOMs as they are most popular with shops.

I designed Black Licorice because of my (new) love for shot cottons. Here in Australia we get a beautiful range of shot cottons. And what goes best with so much colour? Black and white fabric of course. Black Licorice is a small quilt – only 34 inch square. The border is quite deceiving. Its actually two saw tooth borders done on green shot cotton with diamonds added to the middle. Very effective, if I may say so myself. The pattern is available on my website.

I designed this needlecase as part of a kit that went into goodie bags at Stitched up in Gisborne, an all day quilt-in held in Gisborne. I have made up kits for these beauties and they are available at $20 each plus postage. If you are interested drop me a line.

Right now I’m working on three different quilts – two BOMs and one re-vamp of an older quilt using brighter fabric and doing borders with lots of “viney” things!

Are you like me and get all excited when you have LOTS of projects to work on? I love it when I get inspiration and work in a frenzy to put down a pattern on paper. I have this dread that I may one day finish a project and have nothing to work on next….

So I’d better get back to work. Come to think of it – I’m just completing something else – a travel sewing case which I’m hoping to finish today. Photos will come soon.
